Begin by searching the W-TCPL online catalog for the item you need. If you do not see the item that you need, that means that the W-TCPL does not own a copy, or if you see that all of the copies the W-TCPL owns are checked out, you can look through SearchOhio + OhioLINK.
-
Click the words “Search Other Ohio Libraries” near the center right at the top of your search results. The catalogs of all SearchOhio and OhioLINK members will be searched!
-
You will receive either a record for the item you wish to request, or a list of items with a similar title. Click on the title of the item you wish to request.
-
Click on “Get It” and a pop-up will appear for you to sign into your library account. You will need to enter your name, library barcode number, and PIN.
If you click the “Request This Item” link and no libraries that own this item can lend it, you will receive the message, “Sorry, no copies available for requests.”
If a library will lend the item, you will choose your pick-up location. Once the request is processed, you will receive a message stating your request was either successful or unsuccessful.
When your SearchOhio or OhioLINK item arrives, you will receive a phone call, email, text, or printed hold notice and the item will be held for you for 10 days. When items are due, return them to W-TCPL, and we will send them back to the proper library.

Interlibrary Loan Service
Interlibrary Loan is a special service of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library for all patrons holding a valid W-TCPL library card. If an item is not owned by W-TCPL, the Interlibrary Loan staff can search library catalogs all over the country and attempt to borrow the item for you.
1. First look in the W-TCPL catalog to see if your item is available at one of our locations.
2. If the W-TCPL does not have the item, try using the SearchOhio + OhioLINK option to see if the item is available to borrow from another library in this large network of Ohio libraries.
3. If you are still unable to locate the item, you can request assistance for an interlibrary loan search from library staff:
It generally takes one to four weeks to acquire the item through W-TCPL’s Interlibrary Loan service. More time may be required depending on the item being requested. If it is not possible to borrow the item that you requested, the Interlibrary Loan staff will let you know.
Interlibrary Loan materials must be returned by the date due. Overdue fines of 50¢ per day apply. Renewal of Interlibrary Loan materials is dependent on the lending library.
Request by phone at (330) 399-8807, ext. 1118 or use our Interlibrary Loan Request
