New Maker Studio Opening Feb. 17 in the Warren Library

(01/31/2024) - A ribbon-cutting and open house for a new Maker Studio designed to encourage creativity and entrepreneurship will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sat., Feb. 17, in the Warren Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW. The Maker Studio is housed on the second floor of the Warren Library in a former meeting room that underwent renovations to accommodate the new creative space. The Maker Studio features equipment such as a 3D printer, sewing and embroidery machine, Cricut machine, and button maker, along with a recording booth for patrons to create and collaborate on a variety of projects. One-on-one instruction from trained library staff will be available to assist patrons of any skill level learn how to use the equipment. Plans for the Maker Studio began in early 2023 when the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library received a $25,000 grant award from the Trumbull 100 through a gift from the Bland family to help fund the project. “We are excited to be able to offer this new hands-on space for patrons to pursue their artistic and business goals,” W-TCPL Executive Director Jim Wilkins said. “We believe the Maker Studio will encourage imagination, collaboration, and innovation in a way that everyone in the community can access.” Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 20, regular hours for the Maker Studio will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and closed Sunday, Monday, and Friday. For more information about the Maker Studio, call (330) 399-8807 ext. 215 or visit the library website at www.WTCPL.org.
